Clifton Orthodontics is a unique specialist clinic, offering orthodontic treatment on a private basis to adults, and privately or NHS-funded to children. We are of course very highly qualified and experienced, but what really sets us apart from other orthodontists is the relaxed atmosphere and the way in which we treat our patients. We strongly believe that early referrals for child patients are extremely beneficial, and often mean that no extractions are necessary (over 50% of our child patients complete a successful course of treatment with no extractions at all).

We also use the most advanced procedures available, which together with our customisation of appliances gives far faster results. We currently complete 90% of cases within 14 months. Our target is to treat 80% of our patients in just 10-12 months. Our patients also appreciate our caring approach to them. We take a personal interest in them as individuals as well as in their orthodontic treatment, and build up a strong and trusting working relationship with them. Our orthodontic specialist, Richard Tonner, has 21 years experience as a dentist, of which 18 years are as an orthodontist, and 10 years as a lingual orthodontist. He was the first specialist in the country to receive his certification for using Incognito lingual braces, and is one of the leading invisible orthodontic specialists in the UK. Having his own family has helped give Richard an understanding that children need encouragement to be responsible for themselves, and benefit from a relaxed and reassuring atmosphere. Richard offers a wide choice of orthodontic appliances, and advises patients primarily according to the result they are looking for, while also taking into account
their requirements with regards to their appearance during treatment.
