Orthodontics for Children:

Several aspects of our service set us apart from the rest when it comes to children’s orthodontics. One is our standard of care – we treat each patient as if they were our own child, and indeed many dentists within the area send their children to us for treatment.

We believe that early treatment is beneficial when needed, and many patients are pleasantly surprised to find their treatment can be carried out at an earlier age. Early treatment can often prevent the need for tooth extractions – over 50% of our patients complete their treatment without the need for extractions.

We create an informal and fun atmosphere for our young patients, which helps to keep them sufficiently motivated to care for their teeth and appliances properly at home.

We currently treat children on the NHS when eligible, as well as privately, and extend the same quality of service to them regardless of which category they fall into. Those who choose to have private treatment benefit from a greater choice of appliance.

We offer a wide range of orthodontic appliances, we will discuss with you and your child the various options available. If treatment is to be arranged privately we will discuss with you any cost implications.

Metal braces: Fitted with a wire running between tiny blocks onto the front of the teeth. The most popular option for children. These days you can choose from a range of coloured blocks. Pink and purple ones are particularly popular with our young female patients! Clear braces vs Metal braces

Invisalign vs Metal braces Options available privately: Tooth-coloured braces Fixed to the front of teeth like metal braces, but using tooth-coloured blocks so they are less visible. Invisalign® Virtually invisible clear aligners which are removed to eat and to clean teeth. Usually suitable for ages 14 and over. Incognito Gold braces, fixed to the back of teeth instead of the front, making them invisible. Usually suitable for ages 14 and over.
